Proptech Usage in Indian Real Estate

On February 27th, GRI Club India hosted an online meeting to discuss Proptech Usage in Indian Real Estate, with industry leaders from around the country joined by our Co-founder & Partner, Stephen Macdonald, and moderator Vithal Suryavanshi, Partner at event co-host Kotak Alternate Asset Managers Limited.

In his comprehensive overview of Proptech in the real estate industry, Stephen noted that there are around 18,000 Proptechs globally and identified golden opportunities within the Indian market, including the chance to learn from the experiences of other countries while leveraging the nation’s vibrant domestic market and adopting end-to-end solutions.

Significant growth has been seen in the sector over the past decade, with increased foreign investment, rising residential prices, and a surge in real estate use cases for Proptechs in India creating a lot of potential for savvy investors.

The discussion also covered topics such as technology democratisation, payback periods, and the choice between in-house development and third-party solutions.
